Leadership

“I recognized that I could still provide care and build long term relationships with the residents in long term care. It was a great transition.”
C. Jason Claiborne
BSHS, LNHA
Administrator
Jason started his journey in the healthcare industry after a career in sales. He started in acute care and then transitioned to long term care / skilled nursing in the fall of 2009. From there, while enrolled in an Administrator in Training Program, he successfully completed a Bachelor’s in Health Sciences with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Old Dominion University. In 2016, he became licensed to run skilled nursing facilities in Virginia and in September of 2019 obtained his North Carolina license. Jason leads a diverse group of caring and kind individuals. His daily mantra includes his three B ‘s: Be Accountable – Be Positive – Be Present. This helps to put others first and treat everyone with care and dignity.

“I have an affinity for caring for others— this not what I do, it is who I am.”
Cherisse Calloway

Director of Nursing
Learning the operations from humble beginnings, Cherisse began her journey at Berry Hill in 2006 as a hydration aide, then taking the role of scheduler and eventually the supply clerk. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for 14 years, then decided she wanted to do more, earning her degree in nursing and becoming a floor nurse. After serving as a minimum data set nurse, she was appointed the Director of Nursing position in 2020. Cherisse has spent the greater part of her nursing career in long term care and is committed to serving our most vulnerable community members and enjoys being part of the caring team.

“I decided to change my career to give back and to be part of a team that consistently brings a level of care I had never experienced with my own family members.”
